I was reading unfortunate news today that Masayuki Uemura, a key figure in the creation of the original Nintendo Entertainment System, has unfortunately passed away. These systems were a big part of many people’s childhood and it must at least be gratifying to know that a product you helped to develop had such a big impact around the world.
To think too, apparently the video game industry was pretty much collapsing and on the way out due to Atari games apparently over saturating the market to the point where people didn’t really care anymore. Then you have a company like Nintendo I suppose rounding up people such as Masayuki Uemura to create products that would pretty much revitalize and revolutionize the industry. Is this an example of business happenings of people being at the right place at the right time as well?
I would imagine it would be fulfilling for anyone where even long they are gone the world will still be enjoying the fruits of their labour.
