With a lot of businesses requiring to close down and restrictions to the amount of distance that people have to keep apart from each other a lot of businesses such as a school essentially have to close doors until things change. While many people would sit and wait for things to return to normal, a lot of people have the mindset that our lives are changed forever. Therefore you need to adapt as this is the new normal.
So it’s not surprising to see a ton of people moving things like their classroom online such as using web conference software. You essentially have hundreds of people connected to a video feed where everyone in the comfort of their home is trying to learn and do business as usual. For things like teaching and consulting you could in many ways get away with doing everything online. The only thing is people don’t usually have high quality cameras as an example or the space to broadcast where people often see household items in the background which I suppose makes it feel non business-like.
This is a productive way to go about it though where you start being productive as if this is the new normal as opposed to hoping things will go back to exactly the way it was. You never know too as at minimum this will introduce you a new way of doing business for those times where you can’t be physically present.
