I was notified that for tomorrow I needed to go to a studio to record some items where pre-pandemic this was perfectly normal. For the most part it’s probably like less than two minutes of actual work and then you are off as it is in a sense just a pre-screen. But with the new COVID-19 procedures I was reading how thorough they wanted everything such as people wearing masks, being questioned at the front door, having to sanitize your hands on entry and so forth. It then made me wonder, why not just change the system completely and have people just record what you need from their own home? Then if you actually want to use them for the day then you can have them go with all those procedures.
It just seems to make sense in almost every way. I am almost inclined to say in these particular situations it may be good never to go back to the new normal for this as you can see how potentially inefficient it is compared to all the modern day tools we have available to achieve virtually the same thing. I would say it feels like things simply didn’t change as people were never given the motivation to do so.
That is something to think about during these times where it’s one thing to try and add a ton of additional safety measures to existing business to make things work. But we shouldn’t forget that if this is the new normal thinking of ways to completely transform the way you do business may be wiser overall. In many cases you have the technology and resources to make it happen.
