Usually for business they tend to want people to register for items like its mailing list or even as members on its site. This essentially gives them the numbers and potential data to increase sales. So often I have to wonder how much do you need to giveaway in order to make it appealing enough to register for something? I was thinking about this as apparently Walmart Canada has a promotion where for its photo site if you enter in the code “FREE8X10” you can literally get one 8X10 photo print for free. Value wise it’s probably like $1.80 or so.
You would have to register for its site and all too. Like it made me wonder if the majority of people out there feel that this freebie is good enough to go through that whole process. Especially for those who are paranoid in registering for any kind of stuff like this period due to privacy issues. I usually see people jump at it if the company is offering about $10 worth of free stuff that they want. Like there often even skeptical people would tend to do it. Though that can get very expensive.
Although I have often seen that simply using things like licensed merchandise can often be the way to get people to just sign up emotionally not surprisingly. With that note I suppose the simple conclusion many times as well is that you just need to simply know your audience where they can value things like nostalgia more than the actual price value of the offering too.
