This was kind of awkward as there was a person who was promoting the fact that apparently one of his work has gotten so much publicity on places like the news. That’s always great of course when people get an opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience. As well you would assume there must be something fantastic about it to garner that kind of dedicated attention. Well, as it turned out he did have his work published in many places. But as I turned out it was simply a paid press release where many places like websites simply aggregate information non-stop from various sources.
When I saw that I felt mislead by the person which then made me view his other work and claimed accomplishments with a grain of salt. Sure enough it was kind of true for many of his other claims as well. For example, claiming that one thing he created got so much attention based on the numbers. But upon further analysis you can see a lot of it was essentially faked due to factors such as the low amount of actual interaction it seemed.
I know many times people want to generate some kind of excitement and buzz for their offerings as many times it is necessary to get some traction. But in cases like this it can sure be detrimental for your growth when people see it for what it really is. In many ways it’s just better to come out as the business starting out narrative in an honest way I feel.
