Making Money Out of Anything Creates Doubt

There was so much news today about this apparent interview by Oprah Winfrey with Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry. It was supposed to be a nothing off limits interview about the couple and their exit from the royal family. So in that regards people saw this as a couple wanting to open up and enlighten the world on what was s going on due to things like rumors. But then you started to read details such as how CBS apparently paid almost $7 million for rights to the interview. While it is unclear at this time if the couple actually got that money it immediately made people question if this whole interview was just about money.

Just like that money pretty much taints the genuineness of the interview in this case. Can you ever avoid that if you received compensation in any way? Because in some cases I can see someone taking the compensation due to them having to take time off work. But would that always mean you are doomed to be labelled as inauthentic if there is any money involved?

In some cases it’s just people nit-picking I would say such as a TV program agreeing to have sponsors which some would automatically say whatever it is they are producing must be inauthentic as a result. That is stretching it I feel where in that case I would be inclined to say money is just part of the cycle that keeps things moving business wise.
