This was kind of interesting but at the same time kind of true I guess. Since it is extremely sunny here, a conversation came up where a person was telling me that it is important to wear a good pair of sunglasses to block out things like UV rays. She was telling me that she is surprised that a lot of people do not try to invest in a good pair as oppose to buying a $10 one from the store that doesn’t really end up being the best for you in the end.
I guess this is one of those things that you think of more as a fashion type of accessory as oppose to something important in relation to your health in some way. I was always nagged before to wear a good pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes and I guess that persuaded me to spend more than what people normally would. I guess for me expensive sunglasses kind of makes me think of items that are extremely marked up and so you tend to not want to spend too much on it.
Despite that, I bought an Oakley Square Wire a few years back which was a little over $300. This is one of those situations where if you don’t know too much about something then you intend to just go based on recommendation and apparently it is a good quality to go for. There were some that were in the excess of $600 which seemed like an overkill to me. It’s been good though so I suppose you can say the investment was worth it in the end.
