Losing Thousands of Dollars With One Bad Service

So I am still in the process of moving to a new webhost and it is unfortunate to hear that a lot of other people have the same idea where the downtime is too much for mission critical sites. The e-mail has been down for over 24 hours now it seems and still hasn’t been fixed. That then led me to read some comments on how some people are literally losing $10,000 plus clients because of this incident due to the fact that they resell the hosting service. As you can imagine, their end client isn’t happy and wishes to move right away.

That is just kind of crazy to think where a business can lose that much money just with one bad day of service. For smaller people too it doesn’t make sense to immediately sign up for enterprise types of solutions as that can cost hundreds of dollars a month and more meant for large companies. So going with a shared hosting plan is usually more reasonable.

This completely caught people off guard as well. I guess in terms of a backup in these situations the middle of the ground would be to have an alternative solution immediately so that you can transfer your materials as soon as possible if necessary.
