This got me thinking as today I was working in a room that was pretty hot since there is no air conditioning. Now usually a lot of people wouldn’t invest in ways to cooldown a room during the summer due to budget issues. Spending say $800 dollars on a portable air conditioner just for the summer is enough to make some say they would rather just go through the summer until fall.
What I noticed was how I seemed to be working a bit slower du to the fact that the heat was distracting such as having to stay hydrated or hearing loud fans blowing from various source such as computer towers having to cool off in overdrive. If time is money, then would you theoretically be losing more money this way by not simply investing in some kind of solution to cool the whole room down?
I would think it would be the same for the extreme cold where imagine trying to work in an office where everyone needs to wear thick jacket and earmuffs while trying to talk on the phone all day. I can imagine extreme temperatures could increase the chance where your equipment an get damaged too. Is that enough to get you to invest in solutions to keep the temperature at a reasonable level?
