The other day I was looking for a simple weight scale which seemed to be a challenge as a lot of department stores didn’t have them. So I thought a hardware store would be the ideal place to find one as they should have all sorts of tools. The problem was for the first store I went to it was massive and finding the item was a challenge. They didn’t seem to have much staff on duty as well and so I literally walked around the whole store with no luck. Even though online it says the store has these items. Therefore, I left.
The second store was equally large. However, here they had an in-store information booth where you could search for the item you are looking for and it will tell you exactly which aisle it is located in. Sure enough, I found one and it was actually at a great sale price. I bought it of course. It seems so simple as usually stores have an ample amount of staff in each section to ensure that people are finding what they need.
This even shows you how with modern day tech you can have simple solutions for people to quickly locate it themselves. Why lose a sale over something this basic huh? I can’t imagine a system like this being too much to implement too as it is essentially just a computer that pulls up data from the store.
