I was working with a tax software today that needed updating as it was still set to bill invoices using a GST rate as opposed to the new HST rate. Of course, my first inclination was to go to the manufacturer’s site and find directions as to how to update the software. It was pretty straightforward for the most part as all you had to do was create tax items. They even dummy proofed it using screenshots. The surprising thing though was how there were advertisements about seminars that cost $200+ to tell you the exact same thing.
It’s almost like the equivalent of paying $200+ to go to a seminar to show you the steps on how to setup say your new TV as indicated in the manual I thought. You can find manuals and instructions for products online so easily where I think that should be your first reaction if you are currently puzzled about how to operate something. For simple items like this it can sure save you a lot of money from having to pay someone else to show you.
If after finding the exact instructions it is still complicated then maybe it is time to pay for help. But I find that you can usually even find video tutorials for these types of things if you look hard enough.
