I was talking to a person recently about how working in a higher executive role or being your own boss means that you are expected to work long hours as it is something that simply comes with the territory. Then of course that led into the debate on how smart people would find ways to leverage their time instead.
My personal thoughts of this is not so much that the person should be say working 14 hours a day all the time to show that they have what it takes, but rather they do what it takes to follow through with something. Cause really, just because a person can go through days without sleep while continually working doesn’t exactly demonstrate savvy ness to me personally.
As long as you get the desired result, being able to work long hours is kind of irrelevant I’d say.
