Intentionally Having An Extended Sale

With Black Friday over a lot of companies still are trying to capitalize on everyone’s spending spree of course. One interesting tactic I noticed was how this one company seems to always have an extended Black Friday sale each year due to high demand as they claim. There is no difference in the sale price as the hope is whoever waited it out or lost the chance at the sale may actually now buy it.

That probably does work in many ways as when I thought about it there was this one sale for some audio effects that I was debating about. However, the sale expired as I was comparing it to others and so that was a lost opportunity as it was a best deal. So, I went for the second choice. But like there, if the company had an extended sale they would have gotten more.

It might not be a bad idea to implement for a lot of yearly sales events. Unless it was an actual holiday specific day then that would be a little silly marketing wise. Then again, a lot of people probably don’t care too much if the theme makes sense as long as they get a great deal. For people offering purely digital products though it doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
