ICBC Insurance Claim Practices

large business and finance

This has got to be one of the strangest run around I have ever heard when it comes to making an insurance claim as a result of a car accident. Less than a week ago I had two family members who were in a car accident that involved four cars being hit.

In general, what happened apparently was that everyone stopped as normal for the flow of traffic. However, there was this van that kept going for some reason and as a result it rear ended the car that my family members were in and the force was so hard that they collided with the car in-front of them as well with that car hitting the one in-front of it as well.

Now the thing is that the person in the van pretty much admitted to being at fault and there were some injuries such as whiplashes which prevented people from working. However, the ironic thing was that the van incurred more damages as oppose to the one that my family members were driving.

Because of this and despite all of the admittance, the insurance representative started to question if the person at fault was really the vehicle my family members were in. The person’s theory was that they ran into the car in-front of them and as a result of that the van behind them had to suddenly stop which resulted in a crash. Therefore, at this moment they felt that they should not be covered and would have to pay for it. It is pending investigation now though.

In my opinion, that just sounded like some kind of attempt to compensate as less people as possible. I have often seen those ads where they tell you not to discuss insurance claims directly with those representatives by yourself. I guess this would be a typical example for that train of thought.

ICBC – possibly the biggest reason not to have a car in the first place!

I have heard worse. My neighbor had the same issue – car insurance folk bending their agreement for their own benefit. Anyhow he ended up hiring this los angeles car accident lawyer, who not only got the guilty party to pay but also, got him (my neighbor) extra cash!

In the unfortunate case that I ever get into any car accident I am calling my lawyer.

Get a lawyer as soon as ICBC starts to jerk you around. That socialist monster is not accountable to its customers because, in general, it does not have to worry about losing them.
