Getting to one place to another such as for work is usually an accepted expense of your time where it’s unavoidable as part of your duties. But I often mentioned that if you are traveling for a long time each day maybe it’s wise to reconsider the type of work you are doing and where. It got me thinking as today I travelled a bit further than usual. While there was nothing fundamentally different than what I usually did, it literally took about three hours of my day just to get to the destination and back.
Imagine me doing some kind of basic work that can be found in many places but instead I opted to commute here each day. You could argue maybe you like the location better as an example, but adding that up every day does it make sense if one of the main reasons you work period is to generate an income to live? All the extra travelling expense and lost time may almost be a second job in itself if you were working two such as one on the weekends.
It’s almost like the factor on how saving money can be just as important as making money. It can really add up when it is a daily expense.
