I was talking to a friend today who unfortunately has to deal with a huge medical bill and does not have health insurance. Therefore, her goal was to try and cut about $300 to $400 a month in her expenses to make up for the cost. What amazed me was how fast she was able to do that. She immediately went right after expenses such as the cable TV and cell phone. That alone was over $100 a month.
It was interesting too as for things like the Cable TV she found that subscribing to streaming video services for about $10/month seemed to be what she normally used anyways and for communication the Internet gave her what she needed. Makes you wonder in a scenario like that where if we were all forced to cut back all of a sudden on just how many things we can easily live without that is costing us an arm and a leg.
