Homes Other Than A House

I was watching an interview about money and there were these people who actually revolved their life around living in a vehicle such as an RV for an entire year or so as a way to save money which they say worked wonders for them. I only know one person who did something like that personally and it was a result of a must more than a choice I’d say.

While I don’t think this is exactly suitable for people with say kids, I think the important thing to think about with this is how a home doesn’t necessarily mean you need to get a house or apartment. On top of that, it’s more about revolving your “home” based on your available funds as oppose to having the mentality that you must have the greater things in life which you then borrow money to get.

I’m probably going to get a lot of wise crack over this one huh? I can already see people saying things like just live under a tree for free and all.

There is more to life than money – like having a happy life and a comfortable home. I think this is a terrible way to save money. Better to find a nice house that you can afford than to live in a dirty RV. Just think, you could never invite friends over.

Funny you just mentioned about the inviting people over as I was just watching a clip about this retired couple who lives in an RV and has a splendid life traveling all over the world and have no issues having guests and so fourth. Really depends on your lifestyle situation and preference I suppose.

Instead of focusing on how we can bring out life down to where our income is, why not focus on how to bring our income up to where our desires for life are. I believe that going into lots of debt is not desirable … at least not for a home in which to live. There is so much abundance out there in the world that it makes no sense for someone to be tight just to survive if there are countless ways for that same person to create wealth!

True enough NickB. Ideally that would be the mentality to have.
