Holiday Clearance At Different Stores of The Same Company

It’s almost the end of the year and from what I noticed a lot of stores are still trying to clear out their Christmas stock. Especially when it comes to chocolate. That means there are a lot of clearance sales everywhere. What I found funny was how the same companies could have dramatically different clearance prices. For example, one place could have a large case of licorice candy that normally retails for $15 for $5.99 clearance whereas another as it for about $2.50.

In some instances, since these are large companies with multiple stores you could literally walk five minutes to a different location for a better deal. They definitely don’t price shop themselves like they do for competitors. It almost reminds me how some places have manager specials which can vary store to store. I did hear a few comments of people saying they were actually buying items to save for next year.

Not a good idea for candy as I actually know someone who literally gifted a previous year’s box of chocolate to someone else and when they opened it apparently there were bugs and worms in the box. But if it is for decorations or things like gift wrap that isn’t a bad idea.
