Holding Off With The Windows 8 Upgrade

I was debating the other day on whether or not I should update to the new Windows 8 platform as I know at times if you aren’t using the same programs that your customers are it can create some challenges. For example, trying to walk people through on how to run certain programs where keys and function are located in different areas or just general features that may no longer exist.

At this point I think I can probably hold out for a bit as I don’t see anything significantly different in the sense of productivity as the new version at this point seems to be leaning more towards making the operating system more user friendly from a consumer point of view. I guess that is the bigger junk of the market so it makes sense to focus on them.

If you are just a regular consumer you can easily get an upgrade to Windows 8 for about $15 I believe at the Microsoft site at http://windowsupgradeoffer.com. I don’t know how long this is going to last too, but apparently you can get a free media center add-on at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-8/feature-packs. So if you ever intend to use it you may as well snag it for free now.
