Having To Live Luxurious In a Position of Power

There was a lot of news recently on government spending where apparently the prime minister here spent thousands of dollars on items such as hotel rooms during a trip to the point where many would argue he is just living life lavishly at the expense of others. Specifically, the reports claim that he spent almost seven thousand dollars in hotel suites during a trip to the UK or the Queen’s funeral example.

The counter view of this was in testing as people were arguing that since he is the prime minister and represents Canada he needs to stay in expensive and lavish places as it will make him look good which should be good for the country overall as leaders elsewhere would respect him. I suppose it would be like the logic of if there is an executive representing a big company then they should wear expensive suits to show they are powerful and successful.

When you put it that way it’s a common practice for a lot of people to look rich in an effort to gain influence and exposure for one’s business presence as an example. But does that really make sense when it comes to jobs and positions like these where it looks like one isn’t even trying to save any money at all?
