Having To Highlight The Bad of Your Competition
Today there was a new camera released by GoPro called the GoPro Max 2 which is a 360 camera. They were actually one of the first to initially release a 360 a camera but it had been years where it seemed like they neglected to update it only for the competition to take advantage of that. As you can imagine, they ate into GoPro’s market share and became a leader. A lot of these companies would often focus on how they feel their product is so much better than GoPro’s and it seemed like GoPro for the most part didn’t go on the offensive in that regards.
However, with the company struggling in recent years it seems like this time they went all out to try and highlight how they feel the competition is deceptive. In this case, they were saying how their 360 camera is the first true 8K camera whereas the competition actually counts its black screen portions that have no picture as part of the 8K spec. That’s interesting to see and whether or not this helps the company get ahead is unknown.
But at times you do need to go on the offensive if the competition is constantly trying to belittle you. Perception is reality for most consumers.
