Today I got an interesting e-mail from Amazon where it congratulated me as I have saved money. I immediately thought it was one of those spam and scam type of e-mails. However, upon further inspection it looked real. I recently Pre-ordered this limited edition Nintendo Switch game called Super Mario 3D All Star as apparently this will be a limited printed run. The original lusted price was $79.99. According to this-mail, they dropped the price by 3 cents an so as a result they refunded me the difference.
It’s not a ton of money but it makes me think business wise whether or not you should have something automatically do this for the customer as a way to increase the odds that they will order the product rom you instead. Because funny enough it actually had no influence on me as to where I pre-ordered it. I even forgot about it since new titles like these are usually the same price everywhere and it’s more about actually finding a place that has it.
I could see on the other end where people would have the policy and most customers wouldn’t bother to get the price adjust for only a few cents.
