I went to buy some items at a store today and as usual I went in knowing what I wanted to buy so that I could quickly leave as well. Before leaving though I did a quick scan of the receipt and fortunately I did. Apparently the cashier scanned a certain item twice and as a result I was billed for more than I should have. Of course, I got a credit refund for it after.
It makes you wonder how much money we potentially lose a year for when we go say grocery shopping where we are buying a lot of items. Most people would just allow the cashier to scan, pay for the item and leave. Who knows how many errors there could be like with the example above. Only takes a few seconds to do and it could mean extra money that you could use elsewhere.
