Getting The Item For Free With Another Purchase Instead

Today I was with a person who wanted to buy a drink where he debated about buying something from a store. Upon entering he saw the prices where even for something as simple as a bottle of water it was over one dollar. That’s when he had the thought that he was just going to go to a restaurant instead. He essentially went to a fast food restaurant and purchased a burger for about two dollars. He did that because he knew they would give you free water if you want. He did indeed get the water and the burger where while he technically did spend more money the value was a lot better this way.

That’s actually a very good idea many times in terms of trying to get the best value for your dollar. Even when shopping for things like say grocery items there are often packages you can buy that have the exact items you were looking for individually except here there is more stuff that actually is a better value overall. Or I guess the funny example, but very true, is sometimes cereal boxes literally offer free movie tickets. So instead of buying the movie ticket you should just buy the cereal instead and get the ticket for free.

If you really want to go to the extreme that can even be true with getting like A TV as many service providers even for things like your Internet access often offers stuff like that for free if you sign a contract. Make sure it’s actually a good deal of course but getting things for free this way instead can make sense.
