This was kind of a fascinating thought as recently I was reading a debate where a lot of people were unhappy about a service that they received and as a result some people wanted refunds while others just wanted to move on. The interesting thing was how there was comment that there is no need to in a sense tell others in the general public about the company’s bad service since others may have had a wonderful experience. As you may know that can drastically hurt a company in getting future business whenever people read bad reviews online as an example.
But that was an intriguing thought though where if a company gave you poor service do you feel it is your right and obligation to let the world know or would you say everyone should just keep it to themselves? To me personally I think you should be voicing your opinion publicly as in many ways it should help the company improve and acts as documentation of it. Otherwise I could imagine the business has no real incentive to change.
At the same time, to me I personally I feel you are essentially misleading others too by not sharing it. For me a negative review of sort is the same as a positive one in the sense that you are telling others about it so that people can make an informed decision to do business with them or not. It’s different if this was literally like a personal family issue. But if it deals with a business that is offering a service to the public then in my view things like an honest user review is part of what a business should expect to receive.
