So today I was getting a haircut and as usual I talk with the owners a lot about business in general as the conversations usually get interesting such as I learn details on why certain businesses in the area are doing good or bad. While getting the haircut a lady came in the store and tried to solicit her for some kind of donation. As she was given the pitch she immediately answered by saying her boss is not here at the moment.
Sure enough, the person just graciously left. I just had to do a double take about that at first considering she is the owner of the business. I was laughing after wondering how she even thought to say that as naturally you would just respond with things such as you are the owner and that you aren’t interested if you didn’t want to learn more. Of course that usually leads to a follow up pitch. Funny enough too she was saying she just thought of it at that moment. Think I will have to use that sometime.
