I always joked about it as a kid where it would be neat if you were able to buy real products with monopoly money as I often found myself with a lot of money after various game matches. 🙂 Just today I was surprised to see that while in the train station there was a MacDonald there and people were literally trading in Monopoly money for food items like its fries.
I never thought that a company would actually implement something like that. That got me curious to read about it online and I found it rather humorous that people were actually attempting to make counterfeited Monopoly money over this. I guess with real and play money people will just do anything to try and get things for free.
I can imagine how hard it would be to keep track of this type of promotion too as identity a genuine Monopoly bill is probably harder than a real dollar bill. Interesting promotion though nonetheless.
