Following Politicians For Business Trends

I usually stay away from politics, but this was kind of fascinating to think about where recently companies in the US such as AMD and NVidia were requested to stop sending China AI training chips without additional permission. As you can imagine, that drove the stocks down for the two companies. But another news in relations to that is how various US politicians unloaded their stocks on those company a few months back and as a result they avoided the major loss. That’s where people were saying they knew this would happen a head of time.

While the first reaction is that it would appear they have a conflict of interest, some people have a different focus where when they see politicians dump or buy a lot of stocks that may be a good thing to copy as odds are they know something you don’t with all their access to information in regards to future policies.

It could be purely coincidental of course where a politician is just that good or lucky in predicting the market. It is interesting to see the contrast though how one group can spend their energy being outraged over It while the other tries to take advantage of the situation as well.
