Fixing Things Yourself When It Makes Sense

This week a camera that I have been using for awhile had its back over break off just due to the wear and tear and as a result I needed a replacement part. This was literally just a snap on piece too which shouldn’t require anything extreme. When I contacted the company they ended the message by saying they highly recommend that I still bring it in for servicing. That would probably cost about $30 minimum just to essentially snap a lid in place.

Many times despite what companies would suggest you can often do things yourself without too much hassle as it is not uncommon for companies to suggest serving for the sake of additional business. Granted if you truly don’t know what you are dong then you should get someone else to do it. But another example could be having to transfer some simple files where someone says you better hire them to do it otherwise you may accidentally delete everything.

You basically need to think if what you are being told is sales pitch versus you genuinely not having the confident to do something yourself. They often say practice makes perfect too. So if there is very little risk even if you screwed up per se it can be a great skill set investment to do it yourself as well.
