What a scary thought this is where you can potentially go into business with people whom you have never met before. Yet it seems like everyday online I see ads everywhere of people who are just randomly looking for the idea or technical guy to then hopefully create something big together with. This almost makes me think that if you are one trying to randomly find another business partner online that it is probably no different than people trying to find a significant other on a dating site where I’m sure the amount of fake profiles are abundant.
Ironically, I think you would probably have more luck finding a business partner online by simply talking/contacting others from say sites that you visit often as odds are if you are keen enough to stay updated with what they publish then most likely you two would have a similar mindset to potentially work well together. It’s probably just a lot more intimidating as just like in a face to face environment people are afraid of getting rejected and so instead they don’t even try.
I have seen a few sites before that try to match up say entrepreneurs to create a venture but for one reason or another they never took off. I guess many would argue too that in these cases old fashion networking is probably the way to go.
