Finding Fresher Clearance Deals at The Regular Supermarket Aisles

While going to the supermarket again today I was passing by the clearance section and there were quite of few interesting deals. There seemed to be quite a few chocolate covered almonds on sale where a bag would normally be about $5. But in this case the company was trying to clear it out for about $2 as the expiry date was about a week away.

I remember seeing these in the regular section and so what I did out of curiosity was I went to find them in the original section where sure enough it seemed like the same product. However, upon checking the expiring date these ones were still good until next year. So if you really wanted them you basically get the best deal and product freshness this way.

This doesn’t usually happen at say an electronic store as there are usually unique bar codes. But I find for grocery items they often rely on just putting out the nearly expired products first where once sold they place the newer items. Very often to people get lazy and just dump everything out which means more opportunities for you to get the best valued items.
