Exploring Your Family Network

Today I was told that a family member wanted to bring his daughter to Vancouver to learn English for a month or so. The problem was there would be no one to take her back. Then a conversation came up on how it was suggested that I should take her back after the month and actually stay in Hong Kong for a month or so too to meet everyone.

Apparently a lot of the family on that side of the continent runs things such as a fairly large wine and motor business and everyone thought it would be great to go and visit to learn different things too. The last time I went to Asia was when I was about nine years old.

A comment was also thrown out on how most of them couldn’t speak or read English and so maybe I could help them with that aspect for their business. That just got me thinking too on how if you look hard enough you can probably find someone in your close family circle that can help you with your endeavors.

I know that they say it is usually dangerous to do anything business related with family or close friends, but for many it’s not even a consideration that you may already have connections within your family circle to help you and instead just look for help the traditional way. Course, that doesn’t mean you should just expect people to hand you things just because you are blood related.

I was thinking of doing it as it could be a fun experience, but I’ll have too see if it works out time wise.
