Cell phone plans is often a category where I constantly hear stories of people phoning in retention lines multiple times to try and get a better deal as many people phone in knowing the plans that other people have which sounds like a great deal. In many cases though, those plans no longer exist and people are simply on a grandfathered plan. This often results in people getting very aggressive when they are not offered a similar deal.
With that said, there usually is a similar type of deal but it is labelled differently and possibly restricted to specific groups of people. So technically you can get something that is the same or close to it, but would you be inclined to push for the old service plans that other people have? I know for cell phones usually the best way to get these deals is to literally cancel the service and go to a new provider even if it is just temporary. Because this usually results in the company offering people win back deals which often offer the best rates and value.
I personally think that is a better way to go if you are looking for the best deals because they will be chasing for your business instead.
