One story that was fairly big recently was how in the US there was a mass shooting at a school. As usual in these types of situations people want to find out what happened and how they can prevent such a thing from happening again. I did notice though there were a few companies who appeared to be taking advantage of this incident by stating how their offerings could prevent such a thing from happening. Therefore, people should buy their products or convince regulators to use them.
I always wonder if this is a dangerous move as it kind of reminds me of stories such as a real estate agent that shows up at a funeral where once they express their sadness to the family of the deceased they would immediately follow up with how they can help them sell the person’s home quickly so that they can split the inheritance. I would imagine in that instance most people would feel that person is unethical.
So would it be worth as the potential for backlash is rather high? Even if the people in question do need your services at some point?
