I was a bit surprised today as I got an e-mail today from a company that was giving everyone a heads notice that they would be sending customers invoices a little early for the month of December as they will be going on vacation for the holidays. So essentially they wanted to get all of the accounting out of the way so that they can celebrate the new years in peace.
Kind of interesting as usually companies would delay billings saying that you don’t need to pay them until say one week after the new years instead since it is mostly their decision to close down for the holiday. Doesn’t really bother me too much though since the bill itself is pretty minuscule. I can imagine if this was something like a monthly mortgage that people would be more inclined to be apprehensive about it.
