Doing What You Want Versus What Is Working

It was interesting reading how there was a person in a huge dilemma where for their business they created various written materials that are supposed to act as guides and tutorials where hopefully in the end people will actually pay money for their professional services. For example, giveaway free basic information to the general public where that should give the business some exposure as experts in a particular field.

As it turned out they were getting a lot of attention for the work they were putting out. So you can say that was definitely a success. However, the goal in creating those materials was to attract customers where in the end they didn’t get any. So they were in a dilemma of sorts. They were actually generating quite a bit of attention but simply couldn’t convert people where at the same time it was in a sense attracting the wrong audience. But the fact that they have so much attention with this should they keep going and change their business entirely to do what is working for them? Or should they drop it immediately since they really wanted a specific type of business and direction initially?

A more down to earth example would be someone really wanting to do a specific profession only to continuously experience failure. However, this one thing they never even thought of doing before seems to embrace and reward them easily. So like there would you persist with the career choice you always envisioned or do what is clearly working for you? It’s not an easy question of course. Although many times it’s a sign that maybe you should at least capitalize on it. Odds are you may always have an option to go back to whatever it is you wanted where this could give you the solid foundation you need in life to do whatever you wish afterwards. Not everything turns out as planned where usually it’s about adapting and taking advantage of the cards that are handed to you first.
