I was reading some descriptions of various properties today and it seemed like there was one in particular that had a spelling error. Now what that made me think is how for a lot of people they would consider something like this as a deal beaker where the assumption is they must not be a professional. On the other hand, there are others who just see it as a minor error. What would you tend to think?
I think for myself it depends on the context of the situation. For example, if you are paying a lot of money for a lawyer to draw you up a contract and it has major spelling errors that is unacceptable for sure. Even the slightest change of word could change the meaning of an agreement. If it is something simple like a greeting message to a product then I would usually see that as an oopsie of sort in the same vein as people mistyping a text message.
Imagine going to a restaurant and a menu item is misspelled. Would that change your perception of the business overall if the food and service was spot on? Like there, I would think that is a bit much if people start condemning the business as unprofessional because of that..
