The other day I bumped into a person who I haven’t spoken to in a long time and so it was nice to catch up. I remember last time he was actually looking for a different organization to help him find work as he wasn’t happy with the organization that he was currently under. This is where it got kind of interesting as it seemed like companies were giving him opportunities to get his foot in the door with various jobs. However, most of these jobs were a side item for him where it had to revolve around the other stuff he did in life. Not surprisingly he would often lose the job to others that were actually fully committed to doing work through the organization. Despite this it seemed like he felt trying to switch to another company would help.
It got me thinking where one should really focus in committing to things themselves before actually trying to find those perfect partners and companies to work with I feel. Kind of reminds me of those investor shows like shark tank where tons of people walk in where they don’t actually want to commit to their business full time but instead want the investors to give them money first to be able to do it full time. Like there I would think you should be extremely committed to the business already where you are just looking for that perfect match to take things to the next level.
Ultimately it’s your goals and dreams that you want to build correct? For that to happen you need to be the one who is able to get the wheels going where bringing in another would be to simply help it say go faster. For that to happen you need to be committed.
