It was kind of interesting seeing this ad today where for the cleaning products Clorox there was clearly some literature trying to capitalize on all the coronavirus craze at the moment. As you can see in the notes on the bottom, the pictures states that its products “kills Rhinovirus / Human Coronavirus / Influenza Virus. On hard, non-porous surfaces. Used as directed”.
As well on the top it does kind of indicate that you can fight off the disease naturally saying “Believe in your immune system. But trust the power of Clorox. At times like this I suppose it’s in a company’s best interest to take advantage of whatever the buzz topic is at the moment where it is probably free and hot advertisement since people are actively searching for information and solutions.
Although some would say it is inappropriate to take advantage of such situations for financial gain. Would you say this is perfectly acceptable though where it is the opposite in the sense of it is dumb not to advertise about your product and services that are related to this event?
