Changing Things For A Heatwave or Not

People often say you should try and stay away from businesses where the weather can determine instantly if you should open or close for the day. For example, if you run some kind of outdoor picnic event I doubt it would be functional to have it going during a heavy rainstorm. Or a business that rents canoes at a lake I doubt there will be many if any people during wet weather. But recently there have been a lot of warnings about a potential heatwave here which made me wonder does hot weather stifle most types of businesses in any way?

From my observation I couldn’t see any businesses that were closing shop because it is too hot. If anything it creates more businesses such as ice cream trucks or even people selling bottled water for a profit. Would that mean when it comes to weather it’s mainly the other types of precipitation such as rain or snow you should worry about versus just the hot sun?

I think even for myself I tend to spend more money during the hotter weather on items to cool off and stay hydrated. So when it comes to weather are the warm days safe overall from a business perspective?
