Today is a big day for technology product announcements as the CES 2025 is underway and I was really looking forward to what companies such as Nvidia were going to announce as I plan to build a new computer this year. I actually intentionally held off buying any Black Friday computer deals knowing that new products were on the way shortly and tech items usually get dated pretty fast. This was a fantastic example as Nvidia announced its new graphics card.
They started by talking about how their current top tier card called the RTX 4090 is priced at about $1,599. Very expensive of course. Now with their announcement of the new RTX 5000 series they say their lower tier card RTX 5070 is priced at $549 and has the performance of the RTX 4090 card. It’s almost like the equivalent of buying a $1500 laptop only to find out two months later the same one you bought is on sale for about $500 now.
That’s a great example on how fast technology moves and that you should always read up if new things are coming out soon. It’s not uncommon that stores will have heavy sales in an effort to clear out old inventory for the new stuff. So have a little patience to save money while getting a way better product.
