While shopping at the mall today one thing I realized is that while it is generally a good thing to bring reusable shopping bags with you, sometimes you don’t know if you are going to make an unexpected purchase such as seeing a very good item on clearance. Therefore, I don’t usually bring any bags with me unless I am expected to make a big purchase.
Today I saw some good sales for a few items and therefore I decided to pick it up. These were all in containers and so carrying them would be a bit odd as it would be like trying to carry a bunch of pool billiards with you. Therefore, I opted to pay the seven cents for the bag. Might not seem like much at all, but it adds up and not to mention all the extra clutter you get.
Most of the reusable bags I see are for people who are doing like their weekly grocery shopping. Therefore, I am not inclined to carry those things around unless I know for sure I will put them to use. Sometimes what I do is that I just fold up an old plastic bag and stuff it in my inside jacket pocket for future use. It’s just that I don’t remember to put it back in the pocket after unloading everything.
Too bad no one has invented anything that is a pocket sized and is easy to put in and take out. Then again, I am still waiting for the day where we can just light-beam stuff to our houses. 😀
