What an interesting read this was where currently people are getting vaccinated and while there is a small chance according to the data that there could be extreme side effect it is being told that any protection is better than nothing. But for those who experience life altering damages apparently there will be a plan to compensate people if necessary.
According to the official health sites, it states the following:
The Program will provide financial support to you if it is determined that you have experienced a serious and permanent injury after receiving a Health Canada-authorized vaccine, administered in Canada on or after December 8, 2020. Financial support is also available to you if you are the dependent or succession of an individual who has died after vaccination.
Supports provided may include:
payment for injuries
death benefits including funeral expenses
other eligible costs, such as uncovered medical expenses
It made me wonder, if someone was hesitant in getting the vaccine for fear it would cause you permanent harm is this financial compensation enough to negate it? I am almost inclined to say it will probably scare people on the fence even more. Then again, apparently some places used lottery incentives and that worked.
