When it comes to buying things like extended warranties I don’t usually opt for them since I often found that when something goes wrong the warranty would have expired anyways. Having worked in a retail store before too it just seemed like most people never have the need for it or if they can use it in some way they just forget about it. But funny enough since recently I had a camera breakdown it made me wonder should I get some kind of extended warranty for this new one?
While you could say yes as it can happen like it did that was only one time out of all the other times where nothing happened. If I did get an extended warranty for everything before that would have been a ton of money when you look back. Way more than the cost of buying this one item again. Funny enough the warranty would have been over anyhow with this even with the extended one.
Would you be inclined to start buying extra warranty protection on everything after one bad experience? I think for myself I would usually only do it if the item was specifically for business such as I was renting out the gear. There are so many factors there that are out of your control where it would make sense. But for your regular use overall those things are expensive and can add up where odds are you probably won’t ever use it. Guess it all depends if you were on strict budget or not too.
