I was asked recently to go shopping for some items such as peanuts where apparently the price for shelled ones are very expensive in the busy mall. So I decided to go to the smaller places around town to see what could be found and if the prices were better. I did happen to find them for a cheaper price and the person I bought it for was saying that was exactly what they wanted. There was one drawback though as it was mentioned the peanut didn’t seem as fresh as the ones in the mall. That was probably due to more people buying it there where the store has to replenish it faster.
That is something to consider when buying food items and wanting the best value and quality for your dollar. I know usually for things like fresh vegetables buying it from busy locations is often something I do as well for that reason. But things that are shelled I would have thought would last quite a bit of time. Not a long as say actual packaged item but long enough where I would have thought the quality would be virtually the same.
You may say the price is the giveaway of quality but many times the price difference can simply be logistical such as renting the store at a mall is super expensive which mean having to price things higher. I guess either way you just need to shop around to learn the best value locations to shop.
