I have been using one of those Sonicare toothbrushes for years and would say it is worth the investment as health and well-being is something you should treat as serious with your money like how many contemplate about spending thousands on the latest smartphone. One drawback though is the cost of replacement brushes which can cost almost $40 just for a pair or so. You can find knockoff brands too, but usually the quality isn’t the same.
That then got me thinking about the other big electric toothbrush in the market which is the Oral B lineups. Apparently the replacement brushes cost way less. From what I see you could easily get the official products that come with five in a package for about $30 in most places. While I am fairly happy with what I use, that is a pretty significant amount of savings over time. So would you buy the new product based more on long-term savings in this case?
I guess one factor is I never actually used that brand before so I could end up getting something I wouldn’t like as much for whatever reason. But the savings just seems to make sense and I would imagine performance wise it should give similar results. Maybe I’ll wait and see if there is a crazy Boxing Day sale. But I guess it’s a great example too on how there are often continuous expenses associated with your purchases that you need to consider.
