For a lot of small local businesses I am often surprised at how many of them use fonts and designs from famous brands where the only difference is that they spell out their own company name instead. So in the news today there was this local company called Budway that sells marijuana and Subway seems to be taking exception to their company branding as it seems like a copy of theirs.
You can be the judge of that, but I think the similarities are evident. Again, this is actually very common with a lot of small operations such as people running at a mall kiosk. The assumption I would imagine is that they are so small that no one would bother to take action. Well, I guess in this example they can if they feel it is worth it.
So if you are thinking of cutting corners and just copying a popular brand you may want to think twice and just invest the time to be original.
