Breaking Traditional Holiday Savings Dates For Business

large business and finance

It’s safe to say that there are plenty of holidays that were literally invented to try and get people to spend more money. People refer to Valentine’s Day as such as well as the gigantic Singles day in China. But what I have noticed around here for things like Black Friday it seems like many companies are simply releasing their deals way ahead of time to get the jumpstart on everyone else.

These are dubbed as early Black Friday sales as an example where businesses often try and price match each other to funnel some of the sales. But it makes you think as a business is it better to just start your sales early so that you tie up people’s money to be with you instead? Or would you think that you would be losing too much prestige and advertising where people are programmed to shop in that specific day of the year?

In some cases it almost makes sense to just do it early if it is simply a made up holiday. Or having an early sale and one on the actual day as well where people are in the mode to shop currently anyhow. I just know as a consumer the date doesn’t really matter as long as the right deal is there when I need it.
