Being Transparent About A Building Property or Not

This was a funny scenario today I thought where there was a room in the downtown area being sold and it was evident that it was vacant. So it could be a good opportunity for someone to takeover as it was priced in the lower bracket compared to other places. You would probably need to re-paint and all which is the basic assumption. That’s where things got interesting as when you first walk up to the door it looked like someone literally punched a crack into it.

That was definitely not something that was shown in the real estate ad pictures. Then when walking inside there was one section of the carpet that wasn’t very pleasing to look at. While I suppose it’s not a good idea to show the bad side of things in advertisements, it almost makes me wonder If it’s better foe people to see it ahead of times in these cases as discovering it on the spot may be worst.

For example, if the pictures showed the crack at the front door ahead of time while just giving a basic explanation on how it’s damaged and that they factored that into the selling price I would be inclined to think one would potentially be more receptive to the damage overall. This is versus going in with the expectation that you just need to clean something up which would then make you wonder what else is wrong if they didn’t even tell you that ahead of time.
