I am in the market for a new drone as the one I have is showing its age and this year it got me thinking as recently there are so many companies that are attempting to do something different. For example, the space was primarily dominated by one company called DJI as they offered the best value product for the performance and no one could really compete with them head on. However, just recently there were companies trying different things such as having a drone with a 360 camera or making one that is completely waterproof meant for consumer use.
This was enough to even get me to rethink my purchase and whether or not those functionalities would be more useful than another drone with a fancier camera as an example. A good example too on how this can be the ideal way to compete with a juggernaut in an industry where you need to offer features for your products that are not seen elsewhere versus just trying to compete on specs and prices. Because in those cases the bigger companies just have too much of an advantage manufacturing wise as an example.
More choice is good for the consumer too. Now, which one to buy?
